With a new project on the cards (more on that later) and a new year, I decided it was time for a new website! Please go along to www.grvhi.com, have a look and let me know what you think!

The site is now exclusively based on WordPress. Before this revision, I had used a custom-built main site, with a separate WordPress blog. This was for a number of reasons:

Firstly, I’ve always found the themes offered on the WordPress platform to be bloated and far too complicated, taking ages to load and requiring far too much in the way of server-side includes. I also found it far too complicated to personalise – the conflicting CSS rules can be a nightmare (and can increase load-time).

I have now found a new theme called GridFolio; it’s based on an HTML template which I started using until I found this WordPress theme. (There are a number of themes called GridFolio out there, most of which cost money – this one is free).
